A Small Touching Story

Hello guys! As of today, I don't have anything to write 'coz I am busy with something else. LOL! Anyways, let me share you a story of a man and his son: (pls read below!)

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SON : 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD : 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON : 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD : 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON : 'I just want to know.. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD : 'If you must know, I make $20.00 an hour.'
'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $10.00 ?'
The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $10.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $10.00 you asked for..'

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' He yelled.

Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. 'Daddy, I have $20.00 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness. It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts... Do remember to share that $20.00 worth of your time with someone you love. If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.... But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.

Proposal for a relationship

What if someone propose you for a relationship?

Will you accept it or reject it?

Well, like you, I have also my other account which I can post my rendered poems and some articles. Two months ago I didn't open it because I don't have any new poems and article to post or I am just lazy making new one. Pero nitong nakaraang araw... I have guts to open it and repost the old post... hehehe!

While checking other poems and articles, I also checked my latest messages section and it caught my attention of unfamiliar message and username. And I was a little bit shocked of her letter. Please see below:

However, her letter makes me smile/laugh… hahaha! And I am glad that there’s still someone (like her) that has a belief in the so-called the power of love. But still, nakakatakot because I don't even know her. Anyway, try ko lang, I reply her and now waiting for her response and let see what will happen. LOL!

Are you your own worst enemy?

Who talks you out of more things than anyone else? Your spouse? Your parents? Your boss? Your lawyer? If you're like most people, the answer probably is: yourself.

You have an "inner voice" that has opinions on everything you do. That inner voice has its own perspective on you as a person, and is acutely aware of your limitations and shortcomings. Every time you attempt to step out of your box, to try something new and challenging, that inner voice starts in on you. "You can never do that," it says.

Well, that inner voice is wrong. You can do it if you set your mind to it, no matter what has happened in the past. In fact, your biggest obstacle is convincing yourself that you can. The first step in doing that is to acknowledge that the "inner voice" exists, and then take steps to counteract it.

The inner voice will always be there. You can't get rid of it. But you can keep it from dominating your thoughts and actions by supplying yourself with plenty of positive input.

Get yourself around positive, future-oriented people. Read books, listen to tapes, talk back to the voice and say, "Yes I can!" Dwell on the possibilities, not the risks. Model the behavior of successful people. Take action toward your goals. Remind yourself of your accomplishments and of the challenges you've overcome in the past. Write down your goals and review them at least once a day. Find your purpose in life keep yourself focused on it.

You can accomplish great things if you'll just let yourself do it.

Life...

“There is a saying that life is a river and it will take you to where ever you want to go. But reality, if you fell into a river, would you think of that? No. You would try to swim to shore.”

Titira o mangungupahan?

Be Thankful

Be Thankful for the difficult times .
During those times you grow .
Be Thankful for your limitations .
Because they give you the opportunities for improvements .
Be Thankful for your mistakes .
They will teach you valuable lessons .
Be Thankful for each new challenge .
Because it will build your strength and character .
Be Thankful when you're tired and weary .
Because it means that you've made a difference .

The Past

Don't dwell on past mistakes...
leave yesterday behind you...
along with any of its problems, worries and doubts.
Do realize that you can't change the past,
but just ahead is the future...
And you can do something about that.

As You Go Through Life

In life, we never know our fate... we don't know exactly what will happen for our future. Some are very lucky. And some are still waiting for their luck. There are lots of trials we encountered in our journey of life. Trials that sometimes we want to give up or even we ought to end our life because of unreasonable situation. We don't know on how if we can overcome these trials because all in our minds are NEGATIVE - it doesn't help us to face the reality.

Life is like a game. If you know the game and you know how to use your strategy surely you will be the winner! If not, sad to say but you are the loser.

Life is like a fruit tree. It is seasonal. Sometimes it is full of leaves and fruits and sometimes, not.

Life is full of challenges. It is up to you on how to handle the situation and how to face the consequences. Be brave in facing any challenges in life. God will give us challenges because HE knows we can make it.

Don't get tired in facing challenges in life because it will help us to be a better person and stronger individual. Just don't forget to call Him if you really needed Him. He is just in our side guiding us. Maybe we forgot Him that is why He gives us these challenges because He wants us to be near by Him.

Always bear in mind that there is always tomorrow… Just have FAITH!

[Note: I just want to share this to you guys... ]

As You Go Through Life ...

1. Set your own pace........When someone is pushing you, it's ok to tell them they're pushing.
2. Take nothing for granted........Watch water flow, the corn grow, the leaves blow, your neighbors mow.
3. Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive........Rest isn't a luxury, it's a necessity.
4. Listen to the wind blow........It carries a message of yesterday and tomorrow........And now.........Now counts.
5. Rest on your laurels........They bring comfort whatever their size, age or condition.
6. Talk slower. Talk less. Don't talk. Communication isn't measured by words.
7. Give yourself permission to be late sometimes........Life is for living, not scheduling.
8. Listen to the song of a bird........The complete song. Music and nature are gifts, but only if you are willing to receive them.
9. Slow down. God is still in heaven........You are not responsible for doing it all...yourself... right now.
10. Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past........Rest there. Each moment has a richness that takes a lifetime to savor.
11. Quit planning how you're going to use what you know, learn or possess........God's gifts just are. Be grateful and their purpose will be clear.
12. When you walk with someone, don't think about what you'll say next........Thoughts will spring up naturally if you let them.
13. Talk and play with children........It will bring out the unhurried little person inside you.
14. Create a place in your home...At your work....in your heart...where you can go for quiet and recollection. You deserve it.
15. Take time to think........Action is good and necessary, but it's fruitful only if we muse, ponder and mull.
16. Make time for play........The things you like to do. Whatever your age, your inner child needs re-creation.
17. Watch and listen to the night sky........It speaks.
18. Listen to the words you speak........Especially in prayer.
19. Learn to stand back and let others take their turn as leaders........ There will always be new opportunities for you to step out in front again.
20. Divide big jobs into little jobs........If God took six days to create the universe, can you do any better?
21. Direct your life with purposeful choices, not with speed and efficiency........The best musician is one who plays with expression and meaning, not the one who finishes first.
22. Take a day off alone........Make a retreat. You can learn from monks and hermits without becoming one.
23. Pet a furry friend........You will give and get the gift of now.
24. Work with your hands........It frees the mind.
25. Take time to wonder........Without wonder, life is merely an existence.
26. Sit in the dark........It will treat you to see and hear, taste and smell.
27. Once in awhile........Turn down the lights, The throttle, The invitations. Less really can be more.
28. Let go......Nothing is usually the hardest thing to do...but often it is the best.
29. Taste your food........God gave it to delight as well as nourish.
30. Notice the sun and the moon as they rise and set........They are remarkable for their steady pattern of movement, not their speed.
31. And as you ramble on thru life my dearest friend........Keep your eye upon the doughnut, and not upon the hole.
32. "AND SLOWLY COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS ONE AT A TIME"

How to make a LDR work?

It's hard enough to make local relationships work, but having miles, States, and sometimes even an ocean between you makes it even more...

STEPS

1 - Ask the important questions at the onset, to make sure you are both clear on the parameters of the relationship. Setting parameters such as naming your relationship ( dating, seeing each other, boyfriend/girlfriend, engaged)as well defining exclusive(limited to one person,) non exclusive. These can be difficult and awkward questions to ask, but will save you great heartache and misunderstanding down the line. Example: "Are you open to the possibility of relocating if the relationship should become more serious?” or "What are you looking to get out of the relationship?". Stating your end goal or ideas will allow each person to maintain what they need.

2 - Communicate in some way every day, more than once if possible. Since you won't be seeing each other, it's important to establish and maintain an emotional connection. These don't always have to be long, in-depth conversations. Tell each other about your little triumphs and tragedies. Ask for advice. Use an instant messenger program or VoIP for real-time chat, or web cams for that visual connection. E-mail is great so make sure you use it, especially if long-distance phone calls put a strain on your budget. Remember that e-mail and even instant messengers can increase the possibility of misunderstandings. Write love letters. Send small gifts or flowers for no reason. In this case, quantity is as important as quality. You may discover an advantage over others whose partner is close at hand - you don't take communication for granted!

3 - Do things together. Defy the distance. As a long distance couple, it's important to do other things together besides the usual phone call. In a long distance relationship, interaction over the phone can become dull in the long run. Incorporating other forms of interaction are important. Just think... people in short-distance relationships do not spend the majority of their time talking, but rather doing things with each other. Try to replicate this by finding things to do together such as watching a TV show or movie simultaneously. For an extensive list of more things you can do with each other (or for each other) click here: Things for LDR Couples to Do .

4 - Take advantage of the benefits a long distance relationship offers: more time with friends and/or family, no arguments over toothpaste caps, the pleasure of seeing your sweetheart again after a long absence, time to mull your options (rather than snapping at your partner impulsively) before you respond to that email s/he wrote that seemed so rude the first time you read it, etc. Most important, being far apart gives you a chance to maintain your individuality - something that can get lost in the shuffle when couples spend all their free time together.
5 - Pursue common interests, even if it means pursuing them apart. If there's a movie you're both interested in seeing, watch it individually and then call each other afterward and talk about it. Read a certain book at the same time. Stargaze while you're on the phone. Set your watches to go off at the same time every day, and synchronize your alarm with that of your partner. Make it a point to think of each other when your watch goes off, and revel in the fact that he or she is thinking about you, too. Find creative ways to bond.

6 - Avoid the temptation to be controlling. People have free will and no one can or should control another person. As long as you are both interested in being in the relationship, you will stick with it and distance will not make a difference. As soon as one of you decides the other is not a good match - or someone else is a better match - your relationship ends, whether you live 3000 miles apart, two streets over, or share the same bed with your wedding picture on the wall. You are going to have to trust each other completely if this relationship is going to work.
7 - Talk about your future together. Assuming that ultimately you'd want to live together, discussing how you're going to get to that point will help you prove to each other that the relationship is going somewhere and that your efforts and frustrations are not in vain.

8 - Know when to say good-bye. While this is tough in any relationship, this can be especially hard over long distances. When communication becomes one-sided or sparse for too long and for no apparent reason, when arguments (yes, you'll have them) become too frequent, when the whole thing just seems like more trouble than it's worth, it's time to re-evaluate the relationship. You have to remember that for a healthy relationship, no matter how far or close, you must be willing to let go.
9 - Remember: things will get better with time, and even the relationship will become better. Have hope.

10 - Visit often. Try to make the time to visit each other as often as possible or as often as your budget permits you to. A relationship cannot thrive if the only thing you have is the phone calls. You need to see each other up close and personal every chance you get. The key here is to set up some "rules" about frequency of communication and visits and stick to them, consistency can help a LDR survive.

11 - Avoid jealousy and be trusting. One of the easiest ways to destroy a perfectly healthy relationship is to poison it with jealousy and drama. When you start a long distance relationship you must be realistic of the difficulties ahead. It always helps if you go in a relationship with the idea that everyone is innocent and worth of trust until proven otherwise. Don't fall in the trap to interrogate your partner every time he/she decides to go out for a drink with people you haven't met or he/she didn't get back to you right away when you called and left a message. Just because you are in a LDR, you lives won't pause. Your partner will naturally have a social life where he/she lives and so should you. Sure it helps to have your eyes open and not be totally naive but being overly suspicious is unhealthy for you and your relationship too. You should both maintain your social activity and be happy with yourselves.

12 - Be positive. Staying positive and not focusing on the negative aspects of a LDR is essential to keeping your relationship blooming and your partner content. Being away from your sweetie is not all bad news. Use the opportunity of personal time to pursue your interests and hobbies as well as your career objectives. Another positive points it that long distance dating pushes both of you to be more creative, communicate better since you don't have "face-to-face" time and test your feelings. As long as you see the long distance relationship as a temporary state, you will keep your chin up and transmit that feeling of security and happiness to your partner too.

Long distance dating is all about a balanced relationship between partners; a relationship built on strong foundations of trust, understanding and determination to make it work. The two partners should be reasonable about their expectations and willing to cooperate so that this relationship can lead to a happy ending. If these parameters are taken care of, you have nothing to worry about.
